“So what actually happens during an appointment then!?”

We pride ourselves as being a luxury, designer boutique with a service to match. We will consequently conduct a consultation with you to enable us to get to know you better…. We always endeavour to not only recommend dresses that reflect your vision, but also those that reflect your personality.

After our chat, we will guide you through the designers we showcase and together we will select around 6-8 gowns for you to try. We will utilise our vast experience to style you in a way that makes you a unique and individual bride, but also in a way that suits your own personal style.

“Can I come in anytime?”

At Tilly Trotter’s Brides, we open by Appointment Only. This is to ensure that each and every bride who visits the boutique receives the ultimate, most luxurious experience that they deserve.  We lock the door, pour the prosecco and have a huge amount of fun!

Our Saturday appointments are in high demand, so if you wish to book a Saturday slot, please be aware we may have up to a 4 week wait.

As our appointments get very booked up in advance, we do operate a 48 hour cancellation policy so that we can offer your appointment to someone on the waiting list should you not be able to make it.

We ask that all brides come to their appointment on time as we are unable to offer a ‘waiting’ area if the team are in a consultation with another bride. We also lock the front door during all fittings to allow each bride a completely private and personal experience, so if you do arrive a little early Leamington Spa has a huge array of bars, cafes and restaurants for you to relax in before your appointment…We wouldn’t want you to have to wait outside in the unpredictable British weather!

We particularly (and very highly!) recommend Vinteas – a gorgeous vintage tea shop that offers the most delicious afternoon tea! The Ritz and Claridges pale in comparison! Vinteas is very conveniently located directly next door to Tilly Trotter’s Brides.

“Is the boutique easy to find?’’

You can’t miss us! We’re directly opposite Venture Photography.

Park St has limited Pay and Display parking spaces, so you can always try your luck down here, but it may be easier to park in the Royal Priors multi-storey as there are hundreds of spaces available. Just look for signs that read ‘Royal Priors Shopping Centre’ or ‘Royal Priors Parking’.… It is also located on Park St.

“Can I bring my wedding party with me to the appointment?”

We can comfortably seat 2-3 per party. If possible, please don’t bring any young children with you…. We find that pretty dresses and sticky fingers don’t really get on well together!

“How much are your dresses?”

Our collections start from £750 and extend to £3000. The average price of our dresses is currently around £1500.

“Do you sell any dresses Off The Peg?”

We run seasonal sample sales in the boutique (generally around twice a year),  and this is your opportunity to purchase a sample gown at a fraction of the retail price.

We always have a selection of sample dresses from our designer’s current collections available in the store for brides to try. These dresses are new and in exceptional condition so if you’d like to see the selection of dresses available to buy ‘off the peg’ please let your stylist know when you arrive for your appointment.

“Am I going to fit into your sample dresses!?”

Our sample gowns range from sizes UK 8 to UK 16, but don’t panic… the sample rarely fits anyone! We can dress many shapes and sizes, but we may need to be allowed a bit of ‘creative licensing’ …. so please come with an open mind. YOUR gown will look a million times better than the sample dress anyway! We promise!


We take pride in the designers of which we hold and the bespoke service we offer, and therefore believe the price of our gowns and accessories are representative of this.

We do run regular events such as ‘Designer Weekends’ during which we will offer discounts relevant to that particular promotion. However, we do not agree to price matching requests in order to secure a sale.

“I’ve found my dream dress! Yay! So what happens next?”

Congratulations! This makes everything seem so real doesn’t it!

A 50% deposit is required for you to secure and order your gown. The rest of the balance won’t need to be settled until your dress arrives in approximately 8-10 months times… plenty of time to sweet talk your fiancé if necessary!

When your beautiful dress finally arrives, one of the Tilly Trotter’s team will give you a call to get you booked in  for your first fitting! Argh!!……..

Fittings & Alterations:

As soon as your dress arrives, we’ll contact you to arrange a date for you to come to the boutique to clear your balance, try on your dress, and meet our amazing seamstresses (please note that you are not obliged to use our seamstresses should you not wish to).

Alterations should take place around 8 weeks before your wedding, with the final fitting taking place around 2-4 weeks before the wedding.

Alterations are completed on a case by case basis. However, We do offer an alterations package which includes three fitting sessions and all basic alteration requirements such as the alteration of the sides, hem, straps and bustle of the dress. This is at a cost of £200. Any additional alterations will be discussed and agreed with yourself and the seamstress and are subject to charges that are dependent on the work required.

Alteration appointments will take place at Tilly Trotter’s Brides every Tuesday afternoon/evening, at a specified time. Three fittings are usually sufficient for all required alterations, however a further fitting may occasionally be required

First Fitting:

You’ll need to bring your wedding shoes and any relevant under-garments along to your first fitting as this is when the pinning will take place. This is your opportunity to have a chat with our seamstresses to discuss any requirements you may have and also for them to explain any alterations needed. A second fitting and a completion date will then be agreed.

Second Fitting:

The alterations discussed during your first fitting will have taken place by now, so this is your opportunity to try on your gown and review the changes that have been made. If any further alterations are required, the seamstress will then pin your gown to the relevant specifications.

Third Fitting:

All alterations will have been completed by now, so the final fitting is for you to make sure everything is perfect.

We recommend that you bring your designated ‘Wedding Day Dresser’ along with you to your final fitting so the seamstresses can explain the best way to get you in and out of your dress, how to bustle up the back of the dress – and so on.

Dresses will be steamed when they are returned for your final fitting (if the fabric allows this), but we are perfectionists at Tilly trotter’s brides, so we may steam your gown again before you come in to collect it. We will then store your gown with your veil (if you have one) until you are ready to take it away.
